There was no escaping the song ‘Vampires’ by Dukes – it received airplay and video rotations for an incredible 11 months, delivering a Top 10 single and Gold sales.
Dukes have gone from winning MTV’s Kickstart competition to supporting Gomez and INXS on their NZ dates. They toured as support to Dave Dobbyn, Gin Wigmore, Midnight Youth, Th’Dudes and The Checks. They’ve even had a song played in the popular US TV series ‘Brothers and Sisters’.
Formed in Christchurch by brothers Matt and Jo Barus, Dukes’ music is infectious, unpretentious and steeped in tradition. The band cares about the craft of songwriting, the art of performing, and it shows. Old fashioned values to be sure, but that's what makes this band and their music so captivating.
Dukes’ new album will be released in October
